Eric Horn

Eric Horn serves part-time as a Placement Coordinator for WINStep Forward, Inc., where he plays an important role in placing international college students at research institutions around the world through the Khorana Fellowship. He is also an integral part of the administrative team supporting Sci-ROI, contributing to the effective coordination and development of its programs.

In addition to his work in international science education and exchange, Eric is the Managing Director of Synthec Fuels Wisconsin LLC, where he leads and oversees the development of commercial plants in North America. He also serves as Managing Director and Co-Founder of the Biorenewable Deployment Consortium LLC (BDC), an international organization focused on helping clients deploy advanced biofuels, biochemicals, and bioproduct technologies around the world.

His contributions to biotechnology and technology transfer have been recognized through several honors, including the USDA Honor Award for Environmental Protection, the Federal Laboratory Consortium Award, and the U.S. Forest Service Chief’s Award for Excellence in Technology Transfer. Over more than 25 years, Eric and his colleagues have also established several companies spanning biotechnology, consulting, and education.

Eric is also actively involved in promoting education and social engagement. He serves part-time as Secretary and Treasurer of United Against Hate, Inc., a nonpartisan nonprofit organization focused on community outreach and intervention, economic security, religious tolerance, respect for differences, and promoting an inclusive society.

Through his diverse work across science, biotechnology, education, entrepreneurship, and international student exchange, Eric brings a unique combination of scientific expertise, organizational leadership, and commitment to creating opportunities for the next generation of researchers.
